Welcome to our Discipleship Groups (D-Groups)
The D in D-Groups stands for Discipleship. The goal of our “D-Groups” is to provide a place for the believers at Rockport to meet in a small group setting to help each other grow in Christ-centered discipleship. Each bi-weekly meeting includes times of fellowship, prayer and worship focused on the word with the explicit purpose of helping each member grow in faithfulness to Christ.
Where and when do D-Groups groups meet?
Our D-Groups meet in the homes of members, scattered throughout the area. We have groups in Arnold, South Saint Louis County, Barnhart, Festus, Crystal City and Saint Charles County. Our groups currently meet every other week for six meetings on a three month cycle. Most groups meet midweek, but some meet on other evenings, including one group that meets on Friday. Please contact the church for more specific locations and more information.
Who attends D-Groups?
Our groups include people of all ages and situations in life, from children to senior adults, to singles and marrieds and whole families. Our goal is to be a family in Christ together, to study together and learn to love one another without barriers.
What do our D-Groups do?
D-Group typically begins with a time of informal fellowship as people arrive, sometimes including snacks. When it’s time to begin, someone will call the group together for a time of singing, followed by a time for members to share anything they’d like to share about what the Lord may be doing in their lives. We then open the word for a brief devotional, followed by a time of prayer. Most D-Group meetings last about 1.5 to 2 hours.
Study topics change after every quarter. We have studied such topics as Personal Discipleship, The Book of Philippians, and Praying Scripture. More studies are on the way
How long does a group last?
Typically each group meets for an hour and a half to two hours every other week. Groups typically meet six times over the course of three months. Following that we take a break, and then start a new quarter with new groups and a new topic.
