“I told you that you would die in your sins, for unless you believe that I am he you will die in your sins.”

Christianity is all about Jesus! It’s not about you and what you can do. It’s about Him and what He has done to free you from sin and bring you into a new life with Him. That’s why Christianity is a call to faith in Christ Himself! It’s not about wishful thinking or personal opinion or spiritually warm fuzzy feelings we work up. It is truth anchored in a clear-eyed trust in Christ for Who He is and He what came to do! So at it’s heart becoming a Christian is a coming to Christ Himself as God, believing that His death on the cross really does pay the penalty for my sin and His perfect life really has provided all the righteousness I will ever need to be accepted by God forever. In coming to Christ, the Christian begins to realize that every treasure his or her soul could ever desire will ultimately be found in Christ for all eternity (Col 2:3). And so we come to see that the whole of our salvation is wrapped up in knowing, believing, trusting, obeying and follow Him as Lord and King! It is only through our faith-union with Him that we gain the assurance that all these wonderful things promised in the Gospel are indeed ours!. It is my prayer that you will see the preciousness of His promises and believe He really is Who He claims to be to the joy of your soul as we consider His word in John 8:21-30.
Don’t forget that our Grace Bible Conference begins this Friday at 6 PM (Supper provided at 5 PM for those who sign up). We’ll be looking at “Walking in Hope” as Christians, despite the hopeless anger and confusion of this world! Several good friends will be joining us to share the good news of God’s hope-filled word with us throughout the weekend. So it is my hope that you will be able to join us for all or part or this Christ-exalting weekend.
May the God of all hope fill us with joy and hope in believing.
