“At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ . . . that I may make it clear,
which is how I ought to speak.”
Colossians 4:3-4
There is a lot going on over the next two weeks, so let me catch you up. First, I would ask that you be praying for our Psalm 67 Mission Team as we leave Thursday for the Texas-Mexico border to take part in a Church Leadership Conference. Our team includes Aaron Sutton, Rick Clausel, Amy and me. I will be teaching the pastors about biblical church order and the calling and qualifications of elders. Amy will be teaching the women. Aaron, as always, will be leading, teaching and encouraging. Rick is organizing things and leading in worship. We will be there all weekend and return Sunday night.
When we get back, beginning Monday evening (2/24), Dr James Renihan, President of International Reform Seminary will join us for a series of meetings here at Rockport sponsored by Founder’s Ministries. The topic will be Baptism. These meetings are free to all and do not require registration. There will be four sessions (two Monday evening and two Tuesday morning). Topics covered will be: “Baptism in the Old Testament” “Baptism in the New Testament” “Why Only Baptize Professing Believers” followed by a Q/A session. We start Monday night, Feb 24th at 6 PM.
Finally, the Annual Mid-West Founder’s Conference begins Tuesday afternoon (2/25) at First Baptist Church of Fenton. The subject will be “Learning from the Life and Ministry of Charles Spurgeon.” Speakers will include Pastor Brandon Rhea; Geoff Chang, Curator of the Spurgeon Library, and Dr Jim Renihan of International Reform Seminary. This conference does require registration at foundersmidwest.org/conference.
May the Lord honor His word wherever it is faithfully proclaimed!
