Trust in the Lord with all your heart . . . and He will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6
It is official. We closed on the sale of our property and the purchase of the Tenbrook property this week. So what happens now? Pray, pray, pray! There is lots of work to do, decisions to be made. Pray especially for our team leaders as they organize all that must be done. We now have three months to get the new building ready and make our transition. Our first, and most important step will be to focus on the things required for occupancy. That takes first priority. The second step will be getting each space ready for use: the auditorium for worship, the classrooms for Sunday School, the kitchen for fellowships and the offices for daily use. Pray for those who are leading these effort.
Then, at some point in April (?) will come the big move itself. But even after that, there will still be much to be done. For example, much of the renovation and updating of the facility will take place after the move. So pray please pray for an abundance of wisdom. In fact, here are some ways to be praying:
- Pray for wisdom in the many decisions to be made and priorities to be set.
- Ask the Lord to help us get our occupancy permit as quickly as possible.
- Pray the funds we have on hand will cover the things that must be done.
- Ask for patience as things are hectic at first. Ask the Lord to help us work through the inevitable transition bumps and bugs and potential snafues, and that we do so with joy and hope as the Lord directs us.
- Pray the devil will have no hand in confusing things, creating friction or diverting our focus from Christ during this busy time.
- Ask the Lord to open doors for service and Gospel witness as we make this transition to our new location. Oh, and pray the Lees to find a new house!
May the Lord help us walk together in faith during this busy time Pastor Scott
