We give thanks to you, Oh God; . . . We recount your wonderful deeds.
Psalm 75:1
Just two weeks left. That’s hard to believe. For 35 years I’ve been coming to this building as pastor to study and pray and meet with God’s people. This has been our gathering place for worship and celebrations, for funerals and times of fellowship and encouragement from God’s word. But after next Sunday’s service, this phase of our church’s life at this location will be over as we make our move to our new home at 2322 Tenbrook Road (that’s the address for the church building, the offices/mailing address will be 2335 Tenbrook Rd).
With that in mind, and because next Sunday is Mother’s Day, today is the day we are celebrating God’s faithfulness to us in this buildingj for these many years. For many of us who have been here a long time, this will be a bittersweet joy as we consider both God’s provision for our future and the many great memories He has given us here. So here’s what you can expect today:
- This morning’s worship will focus on giving thanks to the Lord from for all he has done for our church as we look forward to what He will do next.
- Following today’s worship and fellowship meal (the last one here!), we will gather at 1:30 for a special service of Thanksgiving and Remembrance. This will include testimonies of His grace, songs of worship, and a trip down memory lane with a presentation of pictures throughout the years.
- Also, be sure and get your copy of both A Brief History of Rockport and Rockport Remembrance and Thanksgiving which includes brief testimonies and memories submitted by several of our members.
God’s faithfulness to us has never failed and never well

PS – Remember, NO Sunday School next Sunday as we begin our move!
