“These things I command you, so that you will love one another”
John 15:17
Good morning! As you read these words, Amy and I should be on our way back from a week spent with our grandchildren and their parents in Gulf Shores, AL. We had originally planned this trip last year, but had to reschedule when everything got shut down. Lord willing, we will be back later this evening.
Pastor Kyle will be preaching this morning as we continue a short series on who we are as Christ’s church and why we do what we do. I believe he’ll be speaking about the Purity of Christ’s Church. I know I’m looking forward to hearing what he has to share. Next Sunday, I plan to finish this brief series by looking at Romans 15:5-7 where Paul commands us to live in Christ-centered harmony with one another and to “Welcome one another for the glory of God.” This sermon will also set us up for the series of messages that will be preached at this year’s Family Camp the following week, September 23-25.
Our Theme for Family Camp this year will be “One Another-ing to the Glory of God.” We’ll be looking at how we are called to love and serve one another in the church as described in various “one another” passages in the New Testament. Here is a list of the messages that are scheduled (all messages will be made available on SermonAudio for those who cannot attend Family Camp):
Thu – Aaron S. “Through Love, Serve One Another” (Gal 5:13-15)
Fri – Warren K. “Bearing with One Another” (Col 3:12-15)
Ryan H. “Bear One Another’s Burdens” (Gal 6:2)
Sat – Jason W. “Loving One Another by Watching Ourselves” (2 John 5-7)
Geoff I. “Outdo One Another in Love and Good Deeds” (Rom 12:10)
Sun – Scott L. “Encourage One Another” (1 Thess 4:18; 5:11; Heb 10:25)
May the Lord bless the proclamation of His Word. Looking forward to being back with you soon!
Pastor Scott
