“Therefore, welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you”
Romans 15:7
This morning as we finish our brief series on Life Together in Christ’s Church, we’ll be looking at Romans 15:5-7. Here the Apostle Paul prays that God will give us true unity in Christ’s church (vv 5-6). He then exhorts us as to put that unity into practice in the way we treat one another (v 7). So we learn that while true unity is God’s gift to the church as it places its trust in Him, it is also something we as Christians must pursue in the way we “welcome one another just as Christ has welcomed us”. There is so much for us to learn from this passage. I’m really looking forward to sharing it with you!
As mentioned last week, this message will also serve as a kind of kick off for the series that will be preached next week during Family Camp. Our theme will be drawn from various “one another” passages in the New Testament where we are called to love and serve one another just as Christ has loved and served us in the Gospel. This should be a really good series. So even if you aren’t able to make it to Family Camp this year, be sure and catch the messages on our website next week or on Sermon Audio at www.sermonaudio.com/rockportbaptist.
Please be in prayer for our speakers and for those who are working so hard to organize this year’s Camp. Pray also for our safety as we travel to and from Bate’s Creek. And just as a reminder, here are our speakers and the topics they’ll be addressing.
